What Happened Halle???

Mom's don't get a day off. Even if their injured. And even if their famous.
Just ask Halle Berry!
The actress, who broke her foot in Spain thanks to a combination of a curious daughter and a wandering goat, was spotted dropping Nahla off at school on Friday.
Despite the injury, she seemed to [...]

Community Lives! Sort of!

NBC Chief Bob Greenblatt addressed questions about the beloved show during a winter press tour. Greenblatt stated that Community is not canceled and would return at a TBD sometime this spring.

Greenblatt said the following:

When I announced our midseason changes last fall and took Community off the schedule, I failed to explicitly say that it would be back. I want to expel any notion that it is just disappearing off the schedule

As for what time Community comes back, that is another issue as well.

The NBC head honcho said that 8pm is now a time slot Thursdays so there may be some shuffling on Thursday's programming. He also stated that he's "very curious" to see how something like 30 Rock would do at 8pm.

Good news for the folks at Greendale!

First Look: David Beckham Releases A First Promo Ad For David Beckham Bodywear

Back in May of last year, we learned that David Beckham would be unveiling a line of products that would include fragrances and his own line of underwear. David Beckham Bodywear will be available for purchase exclusively at H&M next month … and today we get our FIRST LOOK at Becks‘s newest underwear ad. As [...]

Considering that New Year’s Day fell on a Sunday this year, yesterday was the first full day of 2012 for me. I managed to get work done by day and then meet up and hang out with Darion by night. Poor D has been sick for far too long recently so last night was really our only chance to spend time together. The 3 of us (David included) went out for margaritas on the Sunset Strip so that we could catch up and just … hang. I also managed to find some time to watch cheesy movies yesterday … and happened to catch Poltergeist on cable. Not too bad for a Monday, I’d say.

Before the Xmas holiday, Darion had surgery that really opened him up to illness and the poor guy was a mess for a couple of weeks. By the time he got better, he had to fly up to Oregon to see his family for Xmas. If you can believe it, he got sick again while he was holidaying with his mom :( But, D managed to make it back to LA and altho we couldn’t hang out on New Year’s Eve (due to travel delays), we made the most of it by hanging out last night. It was really great to see him looking well again … and hopefully we’ll be hanging out again this week.

So, Poltergeist … truly one of my fave horror films of all time and deffo one of my fave 80s films. I saw Poltergeist for the first time when it debuted in cable in the early 80s and it scared the bejesus out of me:

When I watch the film even now, I’m reminded of how much it scared me as a child … such a great film. Y’all know how much I love the 80s and seeing all the fashions, hairstyles, toys and stuff featured in the film is always really fun. I used to be so jealous of Robbie and Carol Anne‘s bedroom because he seemed to have ALL of the coolest Star Wars toys. Then I would realize that he and his sister were tormented by demonic spirits and I wouldn’t be so jealous anymore … but still, dang, he had the best toys.

In any event, that was my day/night, pretty standard … can’t complain. Not sure what the plan is for tonight but … hopefully it’ll be fun.

Pam Behan: Kardashian Tell All Book

Former nanny, Pam Behan is writing a tell all book on her former clients, the Kardashian’s and Jenner’s. Seems this lady has a lot to say! When it rains it pours, the Kardashian’s are going down! Lol. Ok this will only help them stay relevant and in the spotlight, but hey, it is guaranteed to be a good read, though I am sure we know most of it. Former nanny to the Kardashian and Jenner kids, Pam Behan, is writing a tell all that will go into detail about her time working for the family and it sounds like she is going into great detail, calling Bruce’s two boys, Brandon and Brody “Spoiled and disrespectful.” Duh. We already knew that. Though the three Kardashian sisters are said to be fond of Pam, she is also dishing dirt on them, and promises to give juicy deets about Kimmy. As for the parents, “Pam has a “love/hate” relationship with Kris but a soft spot for Bruce, who helped her get out of a DUI.” How kind. So really who cares, we know all this stuff already but I am sure there will be a few things we can enjoy and laugh about. [...]

Popular Instruments Utilized by Haitian Musicians

One of the most outstanding features in many genres of Haiti music is the medium or fast tempo beats that are produced by percussion instruments used such as the traditional drums. The use of percussion instruments by the Haitian musicians can be attributed to the fact that a remarkable percentage of Haitian people have an African origin. The percussion instruments' beats have contributed to the vibrancy of Haiti music as the dancers are propelled to dance vibrantly and fast so as to move along the rhythms of the drums.

Ryan Adams Lyrics: Why I Love Them So Much

Just as many people are going to festivals these days as they were in the 80s. Also, the number of festivals has grown rapidly, but has the festival scene taken a dent in the last decade? I wouldn't really call it a dent, more of a head on collision. The festival scene has been swamped with "festival fashion" and people going to festivals just so they can say they have been to a festival.

Adam Lambert Arrested Following Fight With Boyfriend Sauli Koskinen

American Idol alum Adam Lambert was arrested earlier this morning in Finland, following a fight with his boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen. Lambert had arrived in Helsinki on Monday to spend the holidays with his Finnish Big Brother winning reality star boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen. The two have been a couple since November of 2010, living together in Hollywood. Lambert and Koskinen were at famed Helsinki gay club Don’t Tell Mama Wednesday night, where they were reportedly seen bickering with each other in the club. Their heated quarrel was enough to get the two kicked out of the club, where they continued to argue, escalating into a violent skirmish. Koskinen’s Big Brother co-star, Niko Nousiainen, was at the bar with with his girlfriend and they tried to separate both Koskinen and Lambert. Instead, they were on the “receiving end of Adam’s wrath,” but it was not intentional, according to Perez Hilton, just an accident. After police were called to the scene, both Lambert and his boyfriend were arrested around 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning, jailed and then later released that afternoon after being questioned by authorities. Looks like they possibly could have several assault charges brought against them, but no word yet on any [...]

Oh no!

Baz Luhrmann has reportedly been forced to postpone filming his adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic The Great Gatsby and send his cast and crew home for the holidays a day early after he injured himself on set!

According to co-producer Anton Monsted:

”We were on quite a cramped set and he was ducking under the crane. He struck his head on the weights on the end of the camera crane. He split open his head and we had to get the doctor.”

Ouchie! That sounds painful!

Here's hoping there were no further complications, and he can take the holiday to recover and rest!

We're sure everything can get right back on track, come the new year!

Feel better!

Espionage Thriller Novels How Two Classics Founded the Genre

Many people think that caricatures are just an outdated or wacky form of entertainment, but caricaturists have made many important contributions to politics, culture, and art over the years. Each year, folks all around the world try to outdo one another with elaborate Xmas lights displays at their homes in order to spread Xmas tree (supposedly) and sometimes, some folks come up with very inventive ways of using their lights creatively. This year, a very creative person decidided to turn their home into an interactive Angry Birds video game. The vid below must be seen to be believed. Check it out.

Help! The pigs are trying to ruin Christmas. Grab the sling shot and fire those birds! From the people who brought you the Guitar Hero Christmas Light game! Running on two computers and 10 Light-o-rama 16 channel controllers, uses more than 20,000 lights and less than one cent of electricity per game. Audio is broadcast on 99.1FM, and the controller has a long enough cord for people to play in their cars on the street. Easier than the iPhone version, and bigger too.

Amazing. I mean, it’d be cool if the house were simply made to look like the Angry Birds game … but to make the display interactive so passersby can play the game? Brilliant. I would never have the time or patience to orchestrate a display like this … but I can appreciate it when others can and do :)

Considerations of Audio Production Schools

If you are called to an audition, expect only a handful of people to be present, and not a very large crowd. In addition to yourself and the casting director, the other people that matter, may be the director, a camera operator, if the audition is being taped, and perhaps a representative of the advertising agency, if the audition is for a commercial.

Obtaining A Classic Sound Using Current Studio Equipment

Electric bass guitar is a young instrument-with the commercial production of P-Bass back in '61. Before the age of pick-ups and other high-tech features, electric bass was known to legendary players as double bass. While we are deeply enamored with bass guitar prowess of James Jamerson, John Entwistle, Cliff Burton and Jack Bruce; it's a must to go back and appreciate the players who mastered the upright bass. In an era when guitars and piano was the star of the night, these bass players put up their own show as if saying, "Enough is enough; you people need to listen because we have our own good licks here." Perceived to be too heavy, too sloppy and soft for large halls-much like the fat guy in school who always gets bullied-these maestros put upright bass into a whole new light.

If you are still faced with the dilemma of what to get your parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, and best friends, here's a suggestion: why not give them the gift of good music? If you want to get these CDs, you can easily find them online and have them shipped directly to your home or your intended recipients' home. What Are The Best Quality Pianos Available?

As an opera fan I am always looking out for new singers and talents who are carrying on the grandness of opera started so many years ago by Monteverdi and continued by so many greats throughout history such as Mozart, Wagner, Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Bizet and many others. It being in my opinion every generation which brings about its own group of perhaps not so much composers now a days but interpreters of the highest quality to continue the wondrous culture which is the opera. These interpreters of today's generation including such greats as Alagna, Villazon, Flores...

By contemporary accounts of those that heard him play, Charles-Valentin Alkan (1813 - 1888) had a technique equal to Liszt. In fact, Liszt himself said Alkan had the finest technique he had ever seen. Even after Alkan became a recluse in 1848, on the odd occasion when he would play in public he retained his technique and amazed those who heard him.

Shostakovich Symphony No 6

Current technology has considerably changed how we look at the progress of music production. We do not actually require real musical instruments to generate beautiful and quality music or beats. Such software has become an economical alternative for ones who has desire to discover their music ability rather than a high-cost studio. Even for some people who identify themselves musical purists are bringing into play this kind of beat making software to make quality and unique techno, hip hop, or rap beats or music.

Soap Dish: Bye Bye ABC Daytime President Brian Frons

Welcome to this weeks edition of Soap Dish! A day early I know but I could not wait to dish about the news that Brian Frons is biding adieu to ABC Daytime. Although my first reaction when I read the news that Frons would be dunzo as of January 2012 I was thrilled. I even did a little happy dance, no lie. However I soon realized that just because he will be gone does not mean that General Hospital isn’t on the chopping block anymore, nor does it bring back All My Children or One Life To Live. That being said I am still glad to see him go. The guy who came up with crap shows like The Chew and The Revolution, it may not have aired yet but we all know it is going to suck, will no longer be in charge and I like that. Frons has supposedly decided to leave when his contract is up, that is the official story behind his leaving. I don’t know if I believe that or not given the year it has been for him. I mean the backlash for canceling AMC and OLTL was pretty major. So even if his [...]
